The Horrific Tyranny Google is Now Secretly Fostering in China

Reminder: the chinese govt was made in the USA:

Based on the history of how China treats its dissidents, Google could soon be complicit in the state-sponsored torture and murder of people for their political and religous views.

Last week, it was reported that a senior scientist at Google, Jack Poulson did the right thing and resigned from his high-paying job over his employer’s decision to support censorship in China. “I am forced to resign in order to avoid contributing to, or profiting from, the erosion of protection for dissidents,” he said.

The senior scientist blew the whistle last month after the Intercept revealed through leaked documents that the internet behemoth planned to launch a censored version of its search engine in Chine that will blacklist websites and search terms about human rights, democracy, religion, and peaceful protest.

After unsuccessfully pleading with his bosses to stop the implementation of this censorship platform Google is creating, Poulson tendered his resignation.

He felt it was his “ethical responsibility to resign in protest of the forfeiture of our public human rights commitments,” he said.

The insidious nature of supporting such tyrannical censorship speaks for itself. However, Google apparently couldn’t care less about the implications and are reportedly moving forward with the initiative anyway.

What the hell happened to “don’t be evil” Google?

As the Intercept reports:

The project – code-named Dragonfly – has been underway since spring of last year, and accelerated following a December 2017 meeting between Google’s CEO Sundar Pichai and a top Chinese government official, according to internal Google documents and people familiar with the plans.

Teams of programmers and engineers at Google have created a custom Android app, different versions of which have been named “Maotai” and “Longfei.” The app has already been demonstrated to the Chinese government; the finalized version could be launched in the next six to nine months, pending approval from Chinese officials.

The planned move represents a dramatic shift in Google’s policy on China and will mark the first time in almost a decade that the internet giant has operated its search engine in the country.

Through their censorship tactics, Google is helping to enable one of the most tyrannical and oppressive regimes on the planet.

“This has very serious implications not just for China, but for all of us, for freedom of information and internet freedom,” Patrick Poon, a Hong Kong-based researcher with human rights group Amnesty International, told The Intercept. “It will set a terrible precedent for many other companies who are still trying to do business in China while maintaining the principles of not succumbing to China’s censorship. The biggest search engine in the world obeying the censorship in China is a victory for the Chinese government – it sends a signal that nobody will bother to challenge the censorship any more.”

According to the leak, Google’s Chinese search app will automatically identify and filter websites blocked by the Great Firewall. When a person carries out a search, banned websites will be removed from the first page of results, and a disclaimer will be displayed stating that “some results may have been removed due to statutory requirements.” Examples cited in the documents of websites that will be subject to the censorship include those of British news broadcaster BBC and the online encyclopedia Wikipedia.

What’s more, Google will likely be required to turn over these blocked results to the Chinese government, in turn becoming a policing arm of the tyrannical state.

“It has been a requirement that companies operating in China must be prepared to police their users and turn over user data to security agencies upon request,” said Ron Deibert, director of Citizen Lab, an internet research group based at the University of Toronto, according to the Intercept. “We have also found overall that internet censorship [in China] is evolving towards less transparency, with less notification to users when messages are censored or removed across all platforms.”

This move by Google to not only support censorship, but participate in the oppression of more than a billion people should not be taken lightly. The internet giant is actively working with a corrupt and murderous government to allow that government to continue its corruption and murder—unchecked and under cover.

Based on the history of how China treats its dissidents, Google could soon be complicit in the murder of people for their political views. Let that sink it.

While this censorship by Google may be currently reserved for China, it’s only a matter of time before the tyrants in America seek to adopt it here—in the name of “national security,” no doubt.

While many Americans may be oblivious to the horrific nature of the Chinese surveillance and police state, the reality is that it exists and is getting worse. In fact, the level of tyranny has become so problematic that even mainstream media is occasionally forced to report on it. Below is a clip from a Wall Street Journal report on what they called the “total surveillance state” in the country.

If you want a glimpse into what Google is supporting, below are more short videos exposing the horrific nature of the Chinese government—one that Ingsoc would be jealous of.

Why Is Assad An Insane Suicidal Monster?

Short answer: because they said so.

As we know from the political puppets and their mouthpieces in the controlled corporate media, Syrian President Basher al-Assad is a bloodthirsty monster responsible for the wanton slaughter of (fill in the number) of his own citizens, and he particularly enjoys dropping chemical weapons on women and children despite knowing that this is the one thing that will bring him universal condemnation and ensure a full-scale assault on his country. . . But why? Why is he such a monster? That is the question, and the New York Times offers its own helpful explainer with predictably comic results. “Terrifying”: New Documents Reveal Secret Gov’t Rules For Spying On US Journalists

What’s the big deal?  All the journalists have to do is parrot government propaganda.   Obviously “we” (i.e. “they”) need to monitor the subversive activities of anyone who strays from the flock.

Journalists and free press advocates are responding with alarm to newly released documents revealing the U.S. government’s secret rules for using Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) court orders to spy on reporters, calling the revelations “important” and “terrifying.”

The documentsobtained and released by the Freedom of the Press Foundation and the Knight First Amendment Institute at Columbia University through an ongoing Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit filed last November confirm long held suspicions that federal officials can target journalists with FISA orders.

Evacuated Solar Observatory Set To Re-Open; Officials Offer Unbelievable Explanation

The National Solar Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico reopened on Monday after it was shut down September 6 following a mysterious FBI raid, according to the group which manages the facility.

And despite federal agents swooping in on a Blackhawk helicopter, and a “bunch of people around antennas and work crews on towers” before the site was completely evacuated – the official explanation has left people scratching their heads; According to officials, they had been cooperating with an existing law enforcement investigation, when “a suspect in the investigation potentially posed a threat to the safety of local staff and residents,” so “moving the small number of on-site staff and residents off the mountain was the most prudent and effective action to ensure their safety.”

AURA has been cooperating with an on-going law enforcement investigation of criminal activity that occurred at Sacramento Peak. During this time, we became concerned that a suspect in the investigation potentially posed a threat to the safety of local staff and residents. For this reason, AURA temporarily vacated the facility and ceased science activities at this location.

The decision to vacate was based on the logistical challenges associated with protecting personnel at such a remote location, and the need for expeditious response to the potential threat. AURA determined that moving the small number of on-site staff and residents off the mountain was the most prudent and effective action to ensure their safety. –AURA

No word on why the FBI was involved, or urgently needed to fly in on a loud, suspect-spooking helicopter instead of simply driving to the facility, or why they couldn’t just arrest the guy and keep the place open. Also no explanation for the work crew climbing all over the towers, or why they shut down the post office….

Notable quote on the national delusionary process

“On top of this physical misery, the Nazi control system inflicted upon us another plague, which was even more insidious because it corroded the mind. It consisted of a blackout of truth, and a surfeit of insulting propaganda. To eliminate any interference with the outpouring of official lies, the occupation regime shut down all Czech universities, gagged the press, radio, movies and theater, and outlawed all prewar Czech books about democracy or the historic Czech struggle against the Germans.” — Milan Kubik, a Newsweek journalist, about the Nazi regime in Czechoslovakia in the 1940s

The nazis could have learned a few things from modern america.   No need to shut down universities or the media.   They’re already onboard with the program.

Surprise! FBI, DOJ Defy Trump, Conceal Their Own Wrongdoing

Despite President Trump’s Monday order for the “immediate declassification” of sensitive materials related to the Russia investigation, “without redaction,” the agencies involved are planning to do so anyway, according toBloomberg, citing three people familiar with the matter.

The Justice Department, FBI and Office of the Director of National Intelligence are going through a methodical review and can’t offer a timeline for finishing, said the people, who weren’t authorized to speak publicly about the sensitive matter. –Bloomberg

Trump ordered the DOJ to release the text messages of former FBI Director James Comey, his deputy Andrew McCabe, now-fired special agent Peter Strzok, former FBI attorney Lisa Page and twice-demoted DOJ official Bruce Ohr.

Also ordered released are specific pages from the FBI’s FISA surveillance warrant application on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page, as well as interviews with Ohr.

The DOJ and the FBI are expected to submit proposed redactions to the Office of the Director of National Intelligence – which will prepare a package for Trump to sign off on.

“When the president issues such an order, it triggers a declassification review process that is conducted by various agencies within the intelligence community, in conjunction with the White House counsel, to seek to ensure the safety of America’s national security interests,” a Justice Department spokesman said in a statement. “The department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are already working with the Director of National Intelligence to comply with the president’s order.”

The agencies are likely to cite national security concerns over revealing classified “sources and methods” pertaining to the Russia investigation – which will put them in direct conflict with Trump’s order. Trump, as president, has the power to override the agencies and declassify material on his own.

Trump’s order to release the documents comes after months of requests from GOP lawmakers, while the DOJ has repeatedly denied their requests for more transparency. …

Top Congressional Democrats Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, Adam Schiff and Mark Warner penned a joint letter to ODNI Director Dan Coates, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein and FBI Director Christopher Wray demanding that the agencies defy President Trump….

In the letter, the lawmakers “express profound alarm” at the decision to “intervene in an ongoing law enforcement investigation that may implicate the President himself or those around him.”

“Any decision by your offices to share this material with the President or his lawyers will violate longstanding Department of Justice polices, as well as assurances you have provided to us.”

The letter then demands that the agencies brief the Gang of Eight before releasing the materials “to anyone at the White House.”  …

Who is concealing their own criminality, Trump or the octopus?
