Alert: GOP/Obama Want To Delay Fast Track Vote Till July 30

A Rigged Corporate Trade Deal; A Rigged Fast Track Review of the Deal in Congress; A Rigged Vote on Fast Track. Say No to the Delay. Enough Rigging of Democracy.

Washington, DC – After losing a landslide vote on Friday on a key aspect of Obama’s trade agenda that would prevent Fast Track, the GOP leadership is going to urge Congress to give themselves until July 30th for a re-vote. Why? Because they do not have the votes and want a month and a half to try to get them. In other words, they want to rig the legislative process to suit their needs.

Our view is — vote now. If you do not have the votes, it is over. Do not rig the legislative process. Normally a re-vote is required within 48 hours, two legislative days, a delay of a month and a half is unheard of and inappropriate.

Call your representative and tell them” “Vote NO on a six week delay. No rigged vote, no delay, vote now.”  Call on or call 202-224-3121..

Think about this: They write a treaty in secret with corporate interests ‘assisting’ the Obama administration, rigging the global economy for big business at the expense of people and planet; then they want to have a fast track process through Congress to rig the review of the rigged agreement; now because they lost the vote of fast track they want to rig the re-vote of the rigged fast track review of the rigged corporate trade agreement. Rigging on top of rigging on top of rigging — and they claim the US is a democracy?

Call Congress on or call 202-224-3121 and tell them — no rigged vote, no delay, vote now!

Today we were back on Capitol Hill with the 24 hour a day Rigged Trade Rebellion. We started the day with a march around the House Buildings and then re-set up our encampment between the House Office Buildings and the Capitol Building. We will be there through the night and tomorrow to oppose this rigging of the legislative process by those who lose a democratic vote.

We know what they hope to do: hold the vote just before their long summer recess, get out of town quickly and hope the long break will result in people forgetting what they did. Warning to Congress: People are on to your games. We will not forget. We will not let you get away with this theft of democracy. You will be held accountable.

And, we will be there no matter when the vote is held.  The populist uprising across the country and across the political spectrum will continue and Members of Congress who vote for rigging our democracy — whether supporting these rigged corporate agreements, or the rigged fast track process or the rigged vote on the fast track process will be remembered by the voters.

Call Congress on or call 202-224-3121 and tell them — no rigged vote, no delay, vote now!

TPP Trade Agreement Up for Vote Again

Good news: On Friday 6/12, the House halted H.R. 1314, the Trade Act of 2015 which includes Fast Track authority for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Bad news: The House is slated to vote again on Tuesday 6/16 on the Title II of H.R. 1314 (the TAA), the portion that failed to pass on Friday.

Here’s what happened: H.R. 1314 was originally a tax exemption bill passed by the House; the Senate gutted it and replaced it with the “Trade Act of 2015”. On Friday, the House decided to vote on the two parts of this revised bill separately. The first vote rejected an inadequately-funded and exclusionary Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program for displaced workers. The second vote was on the Fast Track process itself, called Trade Promotion Authority (TPA). Both parts needed to pass for the bill to pass. The TPA was approved [219 to 211], but the TAA was not [126 to 302] – killing the bill, at least for a moment.

But after the vote, Speaker Boehner called for a re-vote on TAA, which will happen early this week. The Obama Administration, the GOP leadership, and large corporations are frantically making deals and lobbying House members to change their vote. So we must keep the pressure on!

Even if you have used the fax petition or called before, please do so again today or tomorrow and urge your U.S. Representative to vote NO when TAA comes back to the floor. A job retraining program is not a good reason to rubber-stamp massive trade agreements that will cause those job losses in the first place! As if that weren’t bad enough, the TAA program excludes public sector workers whose jobs are offshored. It’s not even fully funded, and much of its funding comes from cuts to Medicare.

The Fast Track authority contained in the Trade Act of 2015, would allow dangerous trade agreements like the TPP to be rushed through Congress, circumventing ordinary review, amendment and debate procedures. It is a virtual rubber-stamp for trade deals that threaten our economy, our environment, and our sovereignty.

Like all past trade deals, the TPP would send American jobs overseas where work can be done cheaply and under weak environmental oversight. It’s even worse than previous agreements because it also includes a key provision that would allow foreign companies to sue the U.S. over laws that they claim would hurt their profits–like Buy Local preferences or labeling GMOs. Federal, state and local laws could be struck down by international courts in the name of corporate profits!

With the Fast Track, Congress is being asked to green light a trade deal that the public hasn’t even been allowed to read.

Please help us protect our economy and our sovereignty! Take action below!

Use the FAX Petition to send your message to your U.S. Representative.

TAKE ACTION #2 – Call Your U.S. Rep.

Please follow up the FAX petition, and call your U.S. Representative toll-free at 888-804-8311 and urge him or her to vote NO on the TAA and Fast Track.

You’ll be asked for your zip code and the phone system will connect you with your Representative’s office. See the Sample Script below.

For Calls

My name is ___ and I am a constituent. I am calling to urge my Representative to vote NO on both the TAA and Fast Track.  Fast tracking trade agreements will harm American workers and consumers, and undermine our sovereignty.

Bond crash across the world as deflation trade goes horribly wrong

Markets ignored clear warnings in Europe and America that the money supply is catching fire, signalling a surge of inflation later this year

The global deflation trade is unwinding with a vengeance. Yields on 10-year Bunds blew through 1pc today, spearheading a violent repricing of credit across the world.

The scale is starting to match the ‘taper tantrum’ of mid-2013 when the US Federal Reserve issued its first gentle warning that quantitative easing would not last forever, and that the long-feared inflexion point was nearing in the international monetary cycle.

Hilary Clinton among friends at the CFR

Can you hear that giant sucking sound? That’s the last shred of washington’s credibility circling the black hole of infinite corruption. While she mouths the usual platitudes, she helps administer the very wars and injustices that she bemoans, on behalf of the permanent government which is housed in the stately marble halls of the corporate behemoths which fund control-freak tanks like the CFR. This is the real government, an obscene caricature of the founders’ vision which barely maintains a plausible pretense of acting in the national interest.

Anosognosia (/æˌnɒsɒɡˈnziə/, /æˌnɒsɒɡˈnʒə/; from Ancient Greek ἀ- a-, “without”, νόσος nosos, “disease” and γνῶσις gnōsis, “knowledge”) is viewed as a deficit of self-awareness, a condition in which a person who suffers a certain disability seems unaware of the existence of his or her disability. It was first named by the neurologistJoseph Babinski in 1914.[1] Anosognosia results from physiological damage to brain structures, typically to the parietal lobe or a diffuse lesion on the fronto-temporal-parietal area in the right hemisphere.[2][3][4] Whilst this distinguishes the condition from denial, which is a psychological defense mechanism, attempts have been made at a unified explanation.[5] Both anosognosia and denial are almost always connected with damage in the right hemisphere. Split-brain research suggests that this asymmetry points to a neurological answer.[6] ….
