” On March 30, the 30th anniversary of the assassination attempt on President Ronald Reagan, Jim Brady, who sustained a debilitating head wound in the attack, and his wife, Sarah, came to Capitol Hill to push for a ban on the controversial “large magazines.” Brady, for whom the law requiring background checks on handgun purchasers is named, then met with White House press secretary Jay Carney. During the meeting, President Obama dropped in and, according to Sarah Brady, brought up the issue of gun control, “to fill us in that it was very much on his agenda,” she said.
“I just want you to know that we are working on it,” Brady recalled the president telling them. “We have to go through a few processes, but under the radar.” …

In his book The Scientification of Love, Michel Odent speaks passionately of oxytocin, the hormone of love. He explains how a birthing woman must release a cocktail of hormones, including oxytocin, endorphins, prolactin, ACTH, catecholomines, etc. Having witnessed many, many times the miracle of pregnancy unfolding into labor and then the astounding advent of a child into the light of our world, I have developed a profound appreciation for oxytocin. The Primal Health Institute’s compilation of research has given me the insight into how experiences that cause us to release oxytocin permanently enrich our ability to give and receive love.
When people sit down to a meal as a family, hold hands, kiss, go for a walk arm-in-arm, make love, pray and yes, when women give birth, oxytocin is released.
Each opportunity to experience oxytocin creates receptors, molecules of proteins that on a cellular level are binding sites for this hormone of love. In other words love lays the foundation for more love. Practice makes perfect. And the love hormone is monogamous: In our bodies it looks for and binds with only its own receptors. This explains the profound and permanent transformation from expectant woman into motherhood.
While laboring and giving birth, a woman’s body is flooded with oxytocin, making such a wealth of oxytocin receptors that her capacity to love increases exponentially. Women throughout history have been astounded to find that after having a baby they can and do love everyone more profoundly. This is nothing short of a rebirth. Often new mothers tell me how much more they feel appreciation for life itself. For the postpartum woman, colors seem brighter as their eyes feel more open. Food can taste better. Soft music may sound more soothing. The postpartum woman’s heart can be so open that she cries easily. A mere smile can inspire tears of gratitude. She is also so sensitive that we must protect her tender and true emotions. …
I have long said, “A woman is pregnant for nine months, she is postpartum for the rest of her life.” The biochemical truth of this is good news for the healing of our planet. Postpartum women are a gentle and essential force of nature. They are full of love, and there can never be too much love.

Last week’s obscene joke of a bill coughed up by a Congress wheezing with immobilizing congestion morphed an already compromised law about data collection into a green light to spy on everyone.
The bill passed the House last Thursday and is now heading to the Senate where the chances of getting a better bill are pretty slim. The President has endorsed this House bill; after all, it endorses his policies.
Sponsored by Wisconsin Republican Jim Sensenbrenner (the author of the Patriot Act), the ironically named USA Freedom Act’s most salient feature is that, contrary to the bluffery about how it’s going to rein in the government on phone surveillance, it has now made massive phone data capture legal and public. The NSA and related agencies under this supposed “reform” bill would gain full authority to collect all information from phone companies and, what’s more, the bill mandates that the companies hold on to that information (apparently permanently).
The House obviously caved. Not that the first edition of this bill was very good to start with. The government obviously is not going to limit its own power. But the bill as passed by the House is much weaker and, in a “blink if you don’t believe it” moment, many Democratic Congressional leaders are actually congratulating themselves. Even John Conyers (D-Mich.), Detroit’s traditionally progressive Democrat, supported this bill: “We stand poised to end domestic bulk collection across the board,” he said not making clear where he was standing or when domestic bulk collection was going to end. It certainly didn’t end with this bill.
On the other hand, a few Congresspeople did express concern, including Sensenbrenner himself, who called the new law “an abuse” of the Patriot Act. One is left wondering what the Wisconsin lawmaker expected from the draconian nightmare he authored….
Kiev army will continue military operation against the country’s east until the situation in the region stabilizes, says Ukraine’s Defense Minister.
Kiev government has launched a massive military offensive in the east of Ukraine which claimed dozens of lives, both among the militias and local civilians. Schools, kindergarten and hospitals in several cities came under fire.
“We will work until the region begins live and function normally and people will get peace,” said acting Defense Minister Mikhail Koval during a briefing.
He added that the south and west of Donetsk Region and the north of Lugansk region have been ‘freed’during the military operations in the Ukrainian east.
Koval said that more than 20 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed during the Kiev crackdown in eastern Ukraine.
Meanwhile, according to officials from the People’s Republic of Donetsk, over 100 people have been killed during the offensives.
An RT report showed more horror suffered by innocent civilians from Ukraine’s eastern region of Donetsk, who were shelled in Kiev’s so-called “anti-terrorist” operation.
The beatings will continue until the violence stops!
The world is increasingly hungry because small farmers are losing access to farmland. Small farmers produce most of the world’s food but are now squeezed onto less than 25 percent of the world’s farmland, a new report reveals. Corporate and commercial farms, big biofuel operations and land speculators are pushing millions off their land.
“Small farmers are losing land at a tremendous rate. It’s a land reform movement in reverse,” said Henk Hobbelink, coordinator of GRAIN, an international non-profit organisation that works to support small farmers, which released the report Thursday.
“The overwhelming majority of farming families today have less than two hectares to cultivate and that share is shrinking,” Hobbelink told IPS.
“If we do nothing to reverse this trend, the world will lose its capacity to feed itself.”
GRAIN’s Hungry for Land report provides new data to show small farms occupy less than 25 percent of the world’s farmland today – just 17 percent, if farms in India and China are excluded. Despite this they still provide most of the world’s food because they are often much more productive than large corporate farms.
If all farms in Central America matched the output of small farms the region would produce three times as much food, the report said.
“Every day we are exposed to the systematic expulsion from our land,” said Marina Dos Santos of the National Coordination of the Brazilian Landless Movement.
“We want the land in order to live and to produce, as these are our basic rights against land-grabbing corporations who seek only speculation and profit,” she said. …
Is this not analogous to the structural problem with the overall interest-bearing debt driven economy? How does a multicellular organism allocate its internal resources? Does one cell owe another interest on a temporary allocation of virtual glucose that comes from nowhere and tricks all the rest of the cells into treating the fake glucose as real, thus making it real due to its facilitation of the overall functioning of the organism? This is a clumsy way to deal with magic, and such an organism wouldn’t be long for this world.
If we must have interest-bearing credit, it needs to be a public utility with interest payments distributed evenly among the public because it’s drawn on the good will of the public at large, not the bank itself.
Militarization of federal agencies across the board puts everyday Americans square in the crosshairs. Despite President Obama going to great lengths to assuage the American people’s concerns with the increased militarization of federal agencies, a recently disclosed military directive suggests those fears could be legitimate.
Yesterday, The Washington Times disclosed a disturbing Department of Defense directive detailing which instances may be appropriate for the government to use lethal military force on dissenting civilians.
In a December 2010 directive entitled, “Defense Support of Civil Authorities” (DSCA), the DoD discusses plans “regarding military support for civilian law enforcement,” which would go into effect if authorized by the President, Secretary of Defense, civil authorities or other qualifying entities.
“Federal action, including the use of federal military forces, is authorized when necessary to protect the federal property or functions,” Directive #3025.18 states.
Under the directive, additional authority is also granted to military commanders. From the directive:
“Federal military commanders are provided EMERGENCY AUTHORITY under this Directive. Federal military forces shall not be used to quell civil disturbances unless specifically authorized by the President in accordance with applicable law.. In these circumstances, those Federal military commanders have the authority, in extraordinary emergency circumstances where prior authorization by the President is impossible and duly constituted local authorities are unable to control the situation to engage temporarily in activities that are necessary to quell large-scale, unexpected civil disturbances…” …
Unexpected? This is laughable. Everyone expects it because everyone knows why it’s going to happen and who is responsible: the very jokers who pretend to be in charge of avoiding it. False flag government is no government at all, it’s simply wholesale corruption.
Refusal to admit the true nature of 9/11 and the “war on terror” is a slow acting poisonous drug that sedates as it kills, and it will lead to democide just as surely as hitler’s utopian nightmare.
… In Toronto, urban sales are now down 13% year-over-year, while in Vancouver sales have plunged by 17% over the same period, and are now at lows not seen since 1998. The end is near.
This brings us to the second factor: the made-for-collapse manner in which Canada’s housing market Ponzi-scheme has been constructed. Here two people merit 100% of the blame: Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper, and the man he appointed to run Canada’s central bank – Mark Carney.
As an ardent admirer of all things “American”; Stephen Harper wasn’t content with having just an ordinary housing bubble in Canada’s housing market. He wanted a Canadian bubble of epic proportions, just like Uncle Sam’s. Consequently, Harper’s Conservative government has totally unshackled Canada’s banks, and allowed them to run wild with reckless lending; exactly as occurred in the U.S. just before its own bubble burst (for the first time).
Only three short years ago; Canada’s financial system was the envy of the entire world. Today its financial sector is just another bankers’ Ponzi-scheme. At precisely the same time that the U.S. is belatedly dismantling (fraud-ridden) Fannie Mae, Harper’s government has been rapidly building Canada’s own “Fannie Mae”: the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
The CMHC has been buying-up mortgages so fast that the Harper government has had to raise its legal borrowing limit twice just since the Conservatives took power, and will soon raise it a third time as it nears its new limit of $600 billion. In proportionate terms it is now larger than Fannie Mae (at its peak), and this occurs as a Euro Pacific Capital report reveals that, “Once small, Canada’s sub-prime mortgage industry is now booming.” It goes on to report that there are now $500 billion in “high-risk mortgages” in Canada’s housing market – nearly half of the entire mortgage market.
Meanwhile, the obscene “home equity” loan market has also exploded in Canada. These “HELOC” loans (once known as “second mortgages”) have exploded by more than 170% in Canada over the past decade. This massive increase in needless debt inevitably and substantially increases the magnitude of any housing sector implosion.
Mission accomplished, Stephen Harper!
One might ask how the Harper government has been able to engage in this massive program of sabotage of the entire Canadian financial system – while the Canadian people remain fast asleep. It’s very simple: the mainstream media lies for the Conservatives. Canada’s largest newspaper recently described the Conservative’s banking policies as representing “an ultra conservative financial system.”
What the Globe & Mail should have written was that this is an “ultra Conservative” financial system: a totally parasitic system dedicated to serving Canada’s Big Banks at the expense of everyone else. But this still leaves one question unanswered.
Why would the Conservative government take the world’s strongest, safest financial system and turn it into a U.S.-style, house-of-cards? Why would Canada’s “strong, safe” banks destroy themselves by amassing massive portfolios of Ponzi-mortgages? Because Stephen Harper and Canada’s Big Banks have now set themselves up for the same “too big to fail” Orgy of Mooching which took place in the U.S. in 2008.
The same banks which deliberately took on all of these made-to-fail mortgages, in a grossly over-heated housing market will all go scurrying to the government in mock “surprise” when the Ponzi-scheme they intentionally constructed implodes. And Stephen “Blank Cheque” Harper will be waiting.
Those Canadians with functional memories will recall that as Canada’s economy crumbled in 2008 that Stephen Harper did nothing but fiddle – and stuff vast amounts of money into the vaults of the world’s strongest, safest banks. It wasn’t until 2009 that the Harper government actually took notice of the remainder of Canada’s economy, the last major government to announce a stimulus program.
If Stephen Harper was happy to stuff money into the vaults of Canada’s Big Banks when they didn’t need a penny, what will he do when they need $100’s of billions to avoid drowning in their own financial feces? That’s right: lots and lots of blank cheques.
While most would not believe it (including myself); at least the U.S. government could pretend that it didn’t actively aid-and-abet the U.S. banking cabal in constructing the world’s largest housing bubble. The Harper government cannot possibly engage in similar pretension. It has duplicated the blueprint for the U.S. housing-bubble – and deliberately done so after the U.S. bubble had already burst.
This goes far beyond any possible claims of negligence or incompetence. This is an intentional betrayal of the Canadian people, which will inevitably lead to a massive, taxpayer-funded bail-out of Canada’s “too big to fail” Bank Oligarchs. Standing by, eager to print-up as much paper as necessary is Goldman Sachs Alumnus (and Bank of Canada Governor) Mark Carney. …
President Jimmy Carter, April 8 at the LBJ Library spoke of the rebirth of slavery in America today.
Carter argued that “slavery” in the United States now exceeded slavery in the 19th century because 100,000 girls “were sold into sexual slavery” last year.
In his new book “A Call to Action”, he spoke of 200-300 children a month being shipped out of Atlanta Airport to various slave auctions in the U.S and abroad. Hear the clip below for me speaking with FBI man Ted Gunderson, psychiatrist Judi-Anne Densen Gerber and Kansas City homicide detective E. Lee Orr. All agreed that slavery was alive and growing in America as of the date of the interview, July 17, 1991. Why did it take Jimmy Carter so long to catch on. We gave him information in 1991. See below
