Professor Neil Ferguson interview: “There’s something very nice about pandemics”

The Times, UK

There was a time in a different world, a world that shook hands, met relatives and commuted to work, when none of this was obvious. When it wasn’t clear that the way to stop an infectious disease was to stop a society and the very idea was horrifying and unimaginable.

“Of course we knew it was possible that social distancing could control a respiratory virus,” says Neil Ferguson, the Imperial College professor whose maths is now for ever associated with the lockdown. “But there is an enormous cost associated with it.”

Comment: No, they did not know that it was possible that “social distancing could control a respiratory virus.” The idea was first bruited in a high school project, by the daughter of a ‘senior scientist’, just over a decade ago. Her project work didn’t even win first prize because it is long since scientifically and medically established that respiratory illnesses caused by aerosolized viruses cannot be controlled by keeping people apart.

Back in 2019, about the time someone was getting infected by a bat, no European country’s pandemic plans seriously entertained the prospect of putting a country on pause.

Comment: No one was infected by a bat. Sars-CoV-2 is a laboratory-tweaked coronavirus. It either leaked directly from a lab, or leaked through person-to-person transmission when people vaccinated with this experimental virus began spreading it to non-vaccinated people.

Then, that’s what China did. “I think people’s sense of what is possible in terms of control changed quite dramatically between January and March,” Professor Ferguson says.

He is speaking in a short hiatus in another busy day. In the morning, he has spent two hours briefing a Commons select committee on the new Kent variant, which his calculations suggest spreads faster. In the afternoon, in part on the basis of those calculations, Matt Hancock, the health secretary, will put another swathe of the country into stricter restrictions. Just hearing that the professor’s maths is behind another lockdown this month will at this stage in a politicised pandemic provoke some to fury.

Professor Ferguson, 52, did not start as an epidemiologist. He studied for a PhD in physics at Oxford. There he saw a talk from Robert May, a mathematical biologist who went on to be a government chief scientific advisor. “I didn’t even do biology O-level. I’d never even thought about using mathematics to study biological systems. And there’s something very nice about pandemics in particular, the way they behave mathematically.”

Comment: Ferguson is apparently enjoying this. You all suffer, but he finds it “very nice.”

There is a satisfying dance of the differential equations, as they spiral across a graph — their dynamics changing with the population dynamics — that has an allure for mathematicians. Individually, humans are messy and confusing. Collectively, they are statistics and can be modelled.

Comment: …and conditioned through terror.

For Professor Ferguson, though, it was one of those messy human interactions that tipped him over into the subject. “The brother of a close friend of mine was very ill and later died from HIV. I remember talking through a scientific paper with him, which used modelling to understand how a new generation of antiviral drugs known as protease inhibitors were inhibiting the virus and people. Unfortunately, it was . . . just . . . yeah. If he had survived another year, he would have benefited from the triple therapy as it came to be known.”

He moved from Oxford to Imperial as part of the country’s leading infectious disease modelling group. They modelled the 2001 foot and mouth outbreak, as well as the 2009 swine flu outbreak, in which at one point, before better data came in, they estimated a “reasonable worst case scenario” of 65,000 deaths.

Comment: All of his models were wrong – in the sense that they didn’t map to reality. But that’s also why they were ‘right’ and Ferguson was consistently promoted – they mapped to political agendas.

When he returned to advise the government once again, this projection, two orders of magnitude above the real total, was cited by his critics. So too was foot and mouth, where the cull of millions of cattle and sheep, partly on the basis of predictions about the disease, still causes deep bitterness among farmers.

In every crisis there is a turning point, that sets the path for what is to come. For Britain, now with one of the worst death rates in the developed world, that moment came eight months ago, in a fateful spring fortnight when the country debated whether or not to lock down, a fortnight of argument, dithering and sudden prominence of the epidemiological term “herd immunity”.

Comment: Britain does not have “one of the worst death rates in the developed world.” It has no more deaths this year than it has in other years. What Britain does have is a lot of people willing to reclassify deaths from all causes as ‘Covid deaths’. The extent to which a country is officially ‘doing worst from Covid’ is actually the extent to which its population is mired in the pseudo-reality of what is in fact a ‘casedemic’. …….

Stanford Researcher Hacked Georgia Voting Machine LIVE in GA Senate, Confirms ‘Pump And Dump’ Vote Manipulation Possible

Inventor and Stanford researcher Jovan Pulitzer appeared in front of the Georgia Senate on Wednesday afternoon and revealed that he has gained access in real time to a voting machine and polling pad in Fulton County, Georgia through a WiFi connection as Georgia residents cast votes in the state’s U.S. Senate runoff election.

“At this very moment at a polling location in the county, not only do we have access through the devices to the poll pad – the system, but we are in,” Pulitzer said.  “And it’s not supposed to have WiFi, and that’s not supposed to be able to happen. So we’ve documented now it’s communicating two ways in real time, meaning it’s receiving data and sending data – should never happen, shouldn’t be WiFi, we’ve now documented it in real time.”

“That’s going on right there where everybody’s voting, and I just want to get it into the record,” Pulitzer added, referencing the Senate runoff election.

When asked by state senators about the exact nature of the hack, Pulitzer responded, “This is coming through the polling pad device where they’re checking everything, but now it only takes one device where you daisy chain them together and do it. The most important thing that shouldn’t be two-waying, and shouldn’t even be accessible or on, and it’s there.”

A technology expert testifies that Dominion voting machines are being hacked LIVE while the hearing is going on.

“Statistically, what can be going on, when you have an operation like this, is as that data is being exchanged and somebody’s in it, [someone] can actually siphon off that data, modify the data, and then feed it right back into the system, or kind of do a pump and dump in real time,” Pulitzer stated.

In his testimony, Pulitzer – who has published 65 academic papers – debunked media claims that hacking into voting machines for the purpose of manipulating votes is impossible, and exposes gaping flaws in the narrative of “fact-checkers” who insist that no voter fraud could have occurred during the 2020 presidential election.

Vaccine “Passports” Could Be Mandatory For Travel, Shopping And Even The Movies, CNN Says

The Covid-19 vaccine isn’t even in the hands of most Americans yet and already CNN is prepping the masses for the idea of a “vaccine passport”, which it says could be needed to travel, and even “shop and go to the movies again”.

“In order to do those activities, you may eventually need something in addition to the vaccine: a vaccine passport application,” an article from this week proudly proclaims. “Rest assured, the nerds are on it,” CNN playfully writes, possibly hoping to distract readers from the idea of authoritarian globalization with a joke or two.

The article notes that several technology companies have begun developing apps to upload details of vaccinations – as if the tech giants didn’t have enough of your data or enough information about you. These companies could require you to show your “credentials” at “concert venues, stadiums, movie theaters, offices, or even countries.”

But don’t worry, the article notes, the Common Trust Network, “an initiative by Geneva-based nonprofit The Commons Project and the World Economic Forum” has partnered with several airlines to help with the project. Their app allows you to upload medical data that will generate a QR code for travel. Because nothing says “secure” quite like the World Economic Forum having access to your medical records.

Thomas Crampton, chief marketing and communications officer for The Commons Project, said: “You can be tested every time you cross a border. You cannot be vaccinated every time you cross a border.”

IBM, possibly bored and looking for something to involve itself in other than gaming its annual effective tax rate and buying back stock, also developed its own app called “Digital Health Pass”.  It allows you to keep your credentials in a mobile wallet.

Jenny Wanger, who leads the exposure notification initiatives for Linux Foundation Public Health, told CNN about challenges early on in coordinating a digital notification response to Covid-19: “I think where exposure notification ran into some challenges was more of the piecemeal implementation choices, lack of federal leadership … where each state had to go it alone and so each state had to figure it out independently.”

The Linux Foundation has also partnered with IBM and CommonPass to help develop “universal standards” for a vaccine app.

Brian Behlendorf, executive director of Linux Foundation, said: “If we’re successful, you should be able to say: I’ve got a vaccine certificate on my phone that I got when I was vaccinated in one country, with a whole set of its own kind of health management practices… that I use to get on a plane to an entirely different country and then I presented in that new country a vaccination credential so I could go to that concert that was happening indoors for which attendance was limited to those who have demonstrated that they’ve had the vaccine.”

He concluded: “It should be interoperable in the same way that email is interoperable, the same way that the web is interoperable. Right now, we’re in a situation where there’s some moving parts that get us closer to that, but I think there’s a sincere commitment from everybody in the industry.”

“A point of entry — whether that’s a border, whether that’s a venue — is going to want to know, did you get the Pfizer vaccine, did you get the Russian vaccine, did you get the Chinese vaccine, so they can make a decision accordingly,” Crampton concluded.

And we’re sure the front of the line to help lobby for these new draconian rules will look something like this:

Despite Numerous FOIA Requests for Relevant Information, the NSA Is Withholding Documents Related to Death of Seth Rich

The National Security Agency (NSA) is reportedly holding records on Seth Rich that are at the highest level of classification.  What on earth could cause these records to be so highly classified?

Attorney Ty Clevenger reported today on the country’s continued efforts to prevent information regarding Seth Rich from being released:

The National Security Agency is hiding records about murdered Democratic National Committee employee Seth Rich, according to one of my sources, who informed me yesterday that the records are classified as a special access program (the highest level of classification) because they include intercepted communications between Mr. Rich and Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Meanwhile, I’ve been authorized to release the transcript of a July 15, 2020 deposition of Pulitzer-Prize-winning journalist Sy Hersh, wherein Mr. Hersh is forced to admit that he did speak with a senior intelligence official about an FBI report about Mr. Rich and Wikileaks. That contradicts much of what Mr. Hersh has said publicly since early 2017 (more on that below).

As my regular readers know, Mr. Rich was murdered in Washington, D.C. on July 10, 2016, and shortly thereafter Wikileaks published thousands of DNC emails that were very embarrassing to then-Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton. On August 9, 2016, Mr. Assange intimated that the DNC emails were obtained from Mr. Rich, not Russian hackers.

If you doubt my source, recall that three weeks ago — after three years of denials — the FBI was finally forced to admit that it had thousands of records about Mr. Rich, as well as his laptop. Meanwhile, virtually no one in official Washington has lifted a finger to help.

After years of doggedly requesting documents from the US government regarding the death of Seth Rich, earlier this month the government decided to release thousands of documents they previously denied were in existence:

Of course there are more documents.  How did  our government get so damned corrupt?

Podesta emails: Gangster talk

Full list of media outlets that accepted “sponsored trips” from CCP

(Natural News) A stunning list of media outlets that have accepted “sponsored trips” from communist China to suppress the truth (and terrorize their own audiences with fake news lies) has now been published by The National Pulse.

As TNP explains:

The effort, according to the U.S. government report, aims to “to co-opt and neutralize sources of potential opposition to the policies and authority of its ruling Chinese Communist Party” and “influence overseas Chinese communities, foreign governments, and other actors to take actions or adopt positions supportive of Beijing’s preferred policies.”

Dubbed “familiarization trips,” the criteria for participants included “effectiveness and opportunities for favorable coverage” in order to secure “favorable” coverage”…

“Private dinners” with communist Chinese propagandists were also attended by these media outlets:

From TNP:

In addition to CUSEF-sponsored travel, outlets also met with CUSEF officials and the BLJ CEO in various U.S. cities including New York, Washington, D.C., and Chicago. Often times, the meetings were described as “private dinners” in FARA filings.
