The recent retractions of two studies on treatments for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) have put into question the methods by which studies like these are vetted.
The studies in question were pulled from The Lancet and the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) due to questionable patient health data supplied by healthcare analytics company, Surgisphere.
“Whenever you don’t know where data comes from, and precisely how it was managed, then the number of incorrect conclusions you can draw is large,” said Kenneth Mandl, director of Boston Children’s Hospital’s Computational Health Informatics Program. “The field is young enough that those best practices may not be well established across the scientific community.”
Studies retracted after outsourced data did not add up
The Lancet study drew scrutiny after if it concluded that treating COVID-19 with hydroxychloroquine increased the risk of patient death. Experts who looked at the study said that the patient outcomes data from several countries did not add up.
The scrutiny led Mandeep Mehra, a Harvard Medical School professor and researcher with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and his co-authors to retract the study, as well as a second study in NEJM. He said that he and his co-authors could not vouch for their data’s veracity and that Surgisphere would not provide its underlying data to independent auditors. Surgisphere CEO Sapan S. Desai is listed as one of the co-authors of the study.
“We can no longer vouch for the veracity of the primary data sources,” Mehra and two of his three co-authors said in a statement. Desai’s name, however, did not appear in the statement.
U.S. healthcare data has, for the most part, been concentrated in medical claims compiled by large insurers such as UnitedHealth Group Inc. and the governments. However, as hospitals have started keeping electronic health records, independent analytics firms, such as Surgispehere, have been buying hospital data sold without patient names.
In addition, the Food and Drug Administration currently allows data gathered outside of clinical trials to be considered in its reviews of new medicines. This provides yet another boost to the healthcare analytics industry.
Retractions show shortcomings of the peer-review system
Defenders have depicted the retractions as evidence that the peer-review system of scientific publishing works — the papers were published, then they were subjected to painstaking scrutiny before being retracted once their shortcomings were exposed.
However, as Los Angeles Times columnist Michael Hiltzik pointed out, “the whole point of peer-review … is to catch shortcomings before publication.”
According to Ivan Oransky, vice president of editorial at Medscape and co-founder of the Retraction Watch blog, the retractions “are great examples of why science needs more of [an] ‘In God We Trust, everyone else needs to show their data’ approach.”
Retraction Watch has documented over 1,500 studies over the years for various data concerns such as falsification of data, Oransky said. In regards to COVID-19 alone, the website lists about 15 medical paper retractions.
“Yes, this is a wake-up call,” he added. “But we’ve had the wake-up call for years.”…
Back in March, drug giant Novartis donated 130 million doses of the anti-malaria drug hydroxychloroquine to the global Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic response. But the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has been directly interfering with its distribution, which has prompted a new lawsuit.
The American Association of Surgeons and Physicians (AASP) has filed a complaint for declaratory and injunctive relief against the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), along with the FDA and the Biomedical Advanced Research & Development Authority, two of its constituent agencies. Also named in the suit are the “lead officers” of these agencies.
According to the AASP, the FDA has been engaged in “irrational interference” concerning patients having “timely access” to hydroxychloroquine. Despite the fact that large amounts of hydroxychloroquine were donated to the federal government for “prompt distribution,” the FDA has seen to it that very few of these drug doses make it out to patients.
On March 28, just days after Novartis donated large quantities of hydroxychloroquine to the federal government, the FDA issued an “Emergency Use Authorization” that essentially prohibited the drug from being administered except in the case of “already-hospitalized patients for whom clinical trials are unavailable.”
“Through a biased, unlawful process described in greater detail below,” the suit states, “FDA officials from prior administrations acted contrary to the wishes of President Donald Trump, by arbitrarily limiting use of HCQ from the Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) to prescribe to adolescent and adult patients hospitalized with COVID-19, as appropriate, when a clinical trial is not available or feasible.”….
Widespread lockdowns across the country shuttered many small businesses for months. Stores, factories, and many other companies closed due to government-enforced public health orders or because of a rapid shift in demand. A new report from the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) provides the first analysis of lockdown impacts on small businesses, makes a shocking discovery that African-American owned businesses plunged by 41%.
NBER commissioned the new report titled “The Impact of Covid-19 on Small Business Owners: Evidence of Early-Stage Losses from the April 2020 Current Population Survey” — shows active business owners in the US declined by 3.3 million or 22% from February to April because of “unprecedented” economic impacts of lockdowns. The decline in small business owners was the “largest on record,” and losses felt across all industries.
The report said African-American businesses were hit the hardest, recorded a 41% decline of black owners from February to April. Next were Latino owners, fell 32%, and Asian business owners dropped by 26%.
Immigrant business owners plummeted 36%, and female-owned businesses fell by 25%. These findings of early-stage losses to small businesses, so far, outlines how minority businesses were crushed during the lockdowns.
“The negative early-stage impacts on minority- and immigrant-owned businesses, if prolonged, may be problematic for broader racial inequality because of the importance of minority businesses for local job creation,” said the report’s author, Robert Fairlie of the University of California at Santa Cruz Department of Economics.
In a separate report, we noted how the virus-induced economic downturn could result in at least 52% of small businesses closing up shop in the next six months.
For readers, it’s essential to understand that nearly half of all US jobs originate from small businesses. This all suggests the quick economic recovery narrative pitched by the Trump administration and Wall Street is bullshit.
For people whose genes put them at risk of becoming obese, exclusive breastfeeding as a baby can help ward off weight gain later in life. Laurent Briollais of Mount Sinai Hospital and the University of Toronto and colleagues report these findings in a new study published June 11th in PLOS Genetics. A growing body of research suggests that babies who consume only breastmilk are less likely to be overweight as children or adults, but the reasons behind this and other benefits of breastfeeding are not well un
Colombian senators on Wednesday said that U.S. troops that arrived in the South American country in early June are allowed to associate with illegal groups and seek an eventual international confrontation.
The Democratic Congressman Ivan Cepeda revealed that the current manuals of the U.S. special forces (SFAB) that arrived in Colombia “mention the function of advising non-governmental militias and illegal partners.”
“We can end up like Libya, a destroyed state that has become a field for the multinational oil companies,” the opposition congressman added.
The arrival of U.S. military personnel in the country without the consent of Congress demonstrates the responsibility of the government of Ivan Duque in that regard….
What will happen to the fake peace movement when it’s exposed as a puppet of the warmongers? Probably nothing, unfortunately. People forget things very quickly these days, partly due to learning in isolation on the internet. Without the emotional context of a “teach-in” such as we had during the “60’s”, meaning is lost. I’m sure the widespread vaccinosis, toxic food and water probably also have something to do with it.
PBS affiliates across the country today will begin airing a five-minute version of the new documentary SEVEN directed by Loose Change creator Dylan Avery about the explosive findings of the recently completed University of Alaska Fairbanks study on the destruction of World Trade Center Building 7.
The short film, titled Spotlight On: SEVEN, will run for a minimum of three months on up to 200 local PBS stations, reaching at least three million viewers.
For those wanting to watch the short film on television, “Spotlight On” programs do not air at scheduled times because they run as needed in between longer shows. To have a good chance of catching it, you’ll need to be tuned in to PBS often. But rest assured that Spotlight On: SEVENwill be seen by at least three million people, most of whom will never have heard of or seen the collapse of Building 7.
We at Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth are grateful to the hundreds of supporters who donated so that SEVEN could air on PBS.
The impending release of SEVEN on PBS has been attracting media coverage all week, including this report on nationally broadcast Fox News Radio:
Clip from Film: “You didn’t hear anything about World Trade Center 7, not for a long time.”
Reporter: “A film dedicated to the controversy surrounding the collapse of World Trade Center Building #7 will air on PBS starting Thursday. The film is a project of the Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth. Together, they dispute the original findings from the National Institute of Standards of Technology that say it’s the first tall building to fall due to fire.”
Clip from Film: “They [federal investigators] ignored evidence. And it wasn’t because they didn’t know about it.”
Reporter: “Following the release of their own study and joining together with the families of those that lost loved ones, they submitted a request for correction so that a new theory that is physically possible and consistent with the evidence emerges. Michelle Pollino, Fox News.”
The landmark study, led by Professor Leroy Hulsey, and the request for correction, spearheaded by AE911Truth, were also covered favorably recently in Daily Commercial News, one of Canada’s top construction news publications.
The feature-length version of SEVEN is being targeted for release in September to coincide with this year’s 9/11 anniversary. Stay tuned for updates!
University Study Finds Fire Did Not Cause Building 7’s Collapse on 9/11
On March 25, 2020, researchers at the University of Alaska Fairbanks issued the final report of a four-year computer modeling study on the collapse of World Trade Center Building 7.
The 47-story WTC 7 was the third skyscraper to be completely destroyed on September 11, 2001, collapsing rapidly and symmetrically into its footprint at 5:20 PM. Seven years later, investigators at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) concluded that WTC 7 was the first steel-framed high-rise ever to have collapsed solely as a result of normal office fires.
Contrary to the conclusions of NIST, the UAF research team finds that the collapse of WTC 7 on 9/11 was caused not by fires but by the near-simultaneous failure of every column in the building.
Following the release of this report, AE911Truth and 10 family members of 9/11 victims submitted a formal request for correction to NIST’s report on WTC 7 based partially on the UAF findings. The request is currently pending.

Six months before the mainstream media started to tell the public to panic and live in a fear-based stupor over the coronavirus, Bill Gates worked with a congressman in the United States government to get a “tracing deal” done according to investigative journalists. Gates and U.S. Congressman Bobby L. Rush sat down in Rwanda, East Africa in mid-August of 2019 to hash out who would score the windfall from a government contact tracing program
The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation helped negotiate who would score a $100 Billion government-backed contact tracing contract in August 2019 — six months before the ‘pandemic’ arrived in the United States and four months before it swept through China, according to a report by True Pundit. Nine months after the meetings with the Gates Foundation in Rwanda, Rush, who is a Democrat from Illinois, introduced the $100 BILLION H.R. 6666, the COVID-19 Testing, Reaching, and Contacting Everyone (TRACE) Act.
The shocking revelations were unveiled on the Thomas Paine Podcast and the Moore Paine Show on Patreonby the two investigators who blew the whistle on the massive Clinton Foundation tax fraud during a Congressional hearing in 2018. John Moynihan and Larry Doyle testified in Congress, detailing the fraud and schemes utilized by the Clinton’s to avoid paying up to $2.5 BILLION in federal taxes. – True Pundit
EXCLUSIVE: Bill Gates Negotiated $100 Billion Contact Tracing Deal With Democratic Congressman Sponsor of Bill Six Months BEFORE Coronavirus Pandemic https://t.co/nOF4fLzlqA
— Thomas Paine (@Thomas1774Paine) June 10, 2020
“The bill does not force you or your loved ones to do anything at all,” a press release from Rush’s office reads. “With that being said, if you or a loved one does have the coronavirus, it is advised that you do self-quarantine and maintain social distance from others.” Does this guy think we are stupid? Because what’s the point of even writing a bill that anyone intends to make a law that doesn’t “force” us to do anything?
Read the entire text of H.R. bill 6666 here if you would like and decide for yourself. Compared to most bills any politician introduced, this one is vague. Is that done on purpose, to confuse and distract? Who even knows anymore.

they will do to society.”

Please watch the Rock-a-bye Baby movie, above. It runs less than a half hour and is worth watching. Think seriously about how very strange it is for medical and scientific investigators to subject animals and children to experiments like those in the movie.
Operation Paperclip brought many Nazi doctors and scientists to our shores after World War II. With them, they brought medical birth and circumcision.
The practice of pathologizing birth has detrimentally influenced the quality of life in the USA. It is obvious to people who hail from countries where birthing and parenting are seen as simple, happy, natural, human activities, that our society in general has suffered greatly.
Our nation is far from happy and healthy. Much healing is needed.
