This Is Exactly How You Should Train Yourself To Be Smarter

Out of all the interventions we can do to make smarter decisions in our life and career, mastering the most useful and universal mental models is arguably the most important.

Over the last few months, I’ve written about how many of the most successful self-made billionaire entrepreneurs like Ray Dalio, Elon Musk, and Charlie Munger swear by mental models…

“Developing the habit of mastering the multiple models which underlie reality is the best thing you can do. “

— Charlie Munger

“Those who understand more of them and understand them well [principles / mental models] know how to interact with the world more effectively than those who know fewer of them or know them less well. “

— Ray Dalio

“It is important to view knowledge as sort of a semantic tree — make sure you understand the fundamental principles, i.e. the trunk and big branches, before you get into the leaves/details or there is nothing for them to hang onto.” — Elon Musk

Each of these luminary entrepreneurs use different words to essentially say the same thing.

I’ve collected the 650+ most useful mental models from the best mental model curators in the world. It is now the most comprehensive list in the world. And I’ve launched a free mental model mini-course to help you understand what a mental model is and how to apply it to your life.

This infographic [below] is the culmination of all these articles. It is my personal list of the 12 most useful & universal mental models that I believe everyone should master first. For each mental model, I share the sub mental models that make it up and one paragraph explaining its significance.

This infographic matters because it would take 6,500 hours to master each of the 650 mental models that others have recommended. That’s a lot of freaking time! You probably aren’t ready to commit that amount of time to mental models… yet. By creating this infographic, I hope to save you dozens of hours determining which models to learn first….

America’s Trust in Mainstream Media Hits Rock Bottom

Gone are the days when US consumers looked to the nightly news and print media as a trusted source of information, and especially if they hold conservative views, according to a new poll by the Columbia Journalism Review.

Things are going from bad to worse for the US legacy media as its trust credentials have reached an all-time new low, as if that were possible. It has even achieved a lower trust rating than lawyers and members of Congress.

The introduction to the CJR poll provided the following ominous opening: “For decades, we’ve known that Americans don’t trust the press. What we haven’t known is how people view the makings of journalism, from the use of fact checkers and anonymous sources to the question of whether money skews journalistic decision-making. This new national poll for CJR answers those questions, and points to how big the trust gap remains.”

Indeed, the cynicism on the street should have every mainstream media purveyor in a state of absolute panic….

Rock bottom?  As in a recognition that the MSM is a genocidal mouthpiece of luciferian secret societies?  They’re not there yet.  But they will be.

UNICEF Joins Experimental Mass Vaccination Bandwagon

Global progress in the fight against measles eroded last year and “vaccine hesitancy” is among the reasons, according to a report released Friday by the United Nations Children’s Fund on an alarming spike in the disease.

The report says 98 percent of countries reported an uptick in measles cases in 2018. Ukraine, the Philippines and Brazil had the largest increases.

“This is a wake up call. We have a safe, effective and inexpensive vaccine against a highly contagious disease – a vaccine that has saved almost a million lives every year over the last two decades,” the release quotes Henrietta Fore, UNICEF’s executive director.

Measles is becoming more common in both developed and developing countries, UNICEF reports. Reasons for the disease’s uptick include inadequate health infrastructure and civil unrest in addition to “low community awareness, complacency and vaccine hesitancy” in some regions, the report says….

https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/health/2019/03/01/anti-vaxx-movement-criticized-unicef-report-global-measles-spike/3031998002/

I have an idea: instead of treating the symptom (rising public awareness of the autism, cancer and autoimmune connection with vaccine viral, dna and metallic nanoparticle contamination, toxic adjuvants and preservatives, and corporate legal immunity from  liability for vaccine injury) why not go after the cure (transparency about such issues and an effort to address them)?

Oh that’s right, we’re talking about medicine here.  What was I thinking?

BTW: The “experimental” aspect of current vaccine policies becomes evident if you read the actual pharmaceutical package inserts (not the patient handouts) where you’ll frequently find passages such as this, taken from https://www.gsksource.com/pharma/content/dam/GlaxoSmithKline/US/en/Prescribing_Information/Fluarix_Quadrivalent/pdf/FLUARIX-QUADRIVALENT.PDF

There are insufficient data to assess the concurrent administration of FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT with other vaccines….

There are insufficient data on FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT in pregnant women to inform vaccine-associated risks….

It is not known whether FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT is excreted in human milk. Data are not available to assess the effects of FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT on the breastfed infant or on milk production/excretion. …

Safety and effectiveness of FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT in children younger than 6 months have not been established….

All the above are common scenarios in vaccination practices and the CDC explicitly encourages such practices.   And finally:

There is a pregnancy exposure registry that monitors pregnancy outcomes in women exposed to FLUARIX QUADRIVALENT during pregnancy. Healthcare providers are encouraged to register women by calling…

Shouldn’t such women and their babies at least get paid for being used as guinea pigs?

Charles Hugh Smith: What Killed the Middle Class?

What killed the middle class? The answer may well echo an Agatha Christie mystery: rather than there being one guilty party, it may be that each of the suspects participated in the demise of the middle class.
If you doubt the middle class has expired, please consider the evidence:
People tend to self-report viewing themselves as middle class, but by the standards of previous eras, they lack the basics of middle class prosperity. I laid out 12 core characteristics of classic middle class security in What Does It Take To Be Middle Class? (December 5, 2013)
By these standards, perhaps one-third of American households have the same security and assets as previous generations who identified themselves as middle class: Honey, I Shrunk the Middle Class: Perhaps 1/3 of Households Qualify (December 28, 2015).
The ten primary drivers of the erosion of the middle class are:
1. The shifting of pension and healthcare costs and risks from the state and employers to employees. (see chart below)
2. The decline of safe, secure high-yielding investments as central banks have driven savers into risky, crash-prone assets such as stocks and junk bonds.
3. The decline of scarcity value in college diplomas that were once the ticket to middle class security. How Many Slots Are Open in the Upper Middle Class? Not As Many As You Might Think (March 30, 2015).
4. The inexorable rise in big-ticket costs: higher education, healthcare and housing. Even as wages stagnate, these costs continue rising, claiming an ever-larger share of household incomes, leaving less to save/invest.
5. The transition from a stable economy with predictable returns to a financialized boom-and-bust economy that wipes out middle class wealth in the inevitable busts but does not rebuild it in the booms.
6. The regulatory and administrative barriers to self-employment, forcing most of the workforce into wage-slavery and/or dependence on the state. Endangered Species: The Self-Employed Middle Class (May 2015).
7. The rising exposure of the U.S. workforce to highly educated, lower-cost competing workforces in a globalized economy.
8. The decline of labor’s share of the U.S. economy: the slice of the pie distributed to earned income is declining.
9. The share of the earned-income slice going to the top 5% is rising.
10. The wealth of the middle class is tied up in the family home, a non-income producing asset prone to the wild swings of housing bubbles and busts. Stagnation Nation: Middle Class Wealth Is Locked Up in Housing and Retirement Funds (October 25, 2017)….

Clues to brain differences between males and females

Predictably and monotonously, the research community is obsessed with investigating every possible contributor to gender-dependent social behavior, except the most obvious one, the one they studiously ignore, which is of course imprinted sexual violence and genital mutilation.

That said, this is interesting research.   The amygdala is involved in processing emotions such as fear https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amygdala_hijack while the endocannabinoid system is involved in  stress and pain perception.   No relevance to the above I’m sure.

Researchers at the University of Maryland School of Medicine have discovered a mechanism for how androgens — male sex steroids — sculpt brain development. The research, conducted by Margaret M. McCarthy, Ph.D., who Chairs the Department of Pharmacology, could ultimately help researchers understand behavioral development differences between males and females….

A key contributor to the differences in play behavior between males and females is a sex-based difference in the number of newborn cells in the part of the brain called the amygdala, which controls emotions and social behaviors. The research showed that males have fewer of these newborn cells, because they are actively eliminated by immune cells.

In females, the newborn cells differentiated into a type of glial cell, the most abundant type of cell in the central nervous system. In males however, testosterone increased signaling at receptors in the brain which bind endocannabinoids, causing immune cells to be activated. The endocannabinoids prompted the immune cells to effectively eliminate the newborn cells in males. Females rats in the study were unaffected, suggesting that the activation of the immune cells by the increased endocannabinoids in males was necessary for cell elimination. In this respect, this research shows that cannabis use, which stimulates endocannabinoids in the brain and nervous system, could impact brain development of the fetus and this impact could differ between male and female fetuses….

Women call ambulance for husbands with heart attacks but not for themselves

Women call an ambulance for husbands, fathers and brothers with heart attack symptoms but not for themselves. “It’s time for women take care of themselves too” is the main message of two studies from the Polish Registry of Acute Coronary Syndromes (PL-ACS) presented today at Acute Cardiovascular Care 20191,2 a European Society of Cardiology (ESC) congress.

The findings come ahead of International Women’s Day on 8 March. This year’s campaign theme — #BalanceforBetter — is a call-to-action for driving gender balance across the world. Ischaemic heart disease is the leading cause of death in women and men3 yet today’s research shows disparities in management.

Professor Mariusz G?sior, principal investigator of the registry, said: “Very often women run the house, send children to school, and prepare for family celebrations. We hear over and over again that these responsibilities delay women from calling an ambulance if they experience symptoms of a heart attack.”…

https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2019/03/190303123652.htm

An obvious question which is strangely not addressed is whether daughters and sisters are also neglected by the woman of the house.

Women are being urged to call an ambulance immediately if they have heart attack symptoms, following research showing they wait longer than men to get help. The study is published today in European Heart Journal: Acute Cardiovascular Care, a publication of the European Society of Cardiology (ESC)….

Bookmark This: 400 Gun and Ammo sites Democrats don’t want you to visit

Has it really come to this?    I don’t know, but it seems prudent.

Make no mistake the Democrats are coming for your guns. It’s not going to be in one clean swoop like the mandatory gun buyback program in Australia, because that would lead to a civil war. This roundup will be slow and incremental, and it starts with the limitation of information.

As most know Google is the information gatekeeper for about 75% of the world. It’s also a well-known fact that Google hates guns, and will do anything to destroy publishers and businesses that dare to uphold the Second Amendment. That is why this article is so important. Google can continue to suppress all the sites listed below, but they can’t suppress this page if you bookmark it in your browser. That is how we are going to win this war. Listed below are over 400 pro-Second Amendment websites offering valuable information in regards to firearms, ammo, gunsmithing, hunting, news, and much more. By no means is this list complete. I’m sure there are hundreds of great sites I missed, and if so please feel free to mention them in the comments and I will be sure to add them to this list. Please note I haven’t received any compensation from any of the companies or publishers listed below, my only goal is to create a great resource people can use over and over again….
