Is it too cynical to think they’ll arrive just in time for the elections? Of course that would be “illegal” in the conventional sense, but on a more serious note, pawns tend to have many functions in elite planning. Or did you think all these people spontaneously decided to pack up and start walking 2000 miles on a whim? Where are they getting their food and water? They obviously aren’t carrying it, and they wouldn’t have set out without assurances and arrangements. Promises have been made. These are the questions the northern peasants aren’t supposed to ask.
Given who is behind this, I suspect they’re migrating from the frying pan into the fire. This is not a humanitarian agenda.
