From yuan-denominated oil futures (and soon to be yuan-denominated metals contracts) to Europe’s decision to use Yuan to pay for Iranian oil; and from non-dollar settlement systems for Russia/Chinese trade to Turkey’s call for citizens to dump the dollar, it appears each action of the Trump administration deepens the distrust in the dollar hegemony, coalescing the world against Washington’s reserve currency unipolar order.
All of which leads to this…
In a well-placed interview in China’s Xinhua news – the official press agency of the People’s Republic of China – officials from Africa are seen calling for more yuanification of the massive continent’s economies….
Facebook said it will drop the “trending news” section from its site because Facebook claims it “isn’t useful.”
The section, which highlighted hot news including the time Matt Drudge visited Infowars, had existed on the site for over four years.
Facebook said it was killing the section because it “accounted for less than 1.5% of licks to news publishers on average,” which is expected given how much the site force-fed mainstream news to apathetic users.
The site was also accused of gaming the section so that some of the “trending news” wasn’t actually that trending, but it was what the powers-that-be wanted you to see.
“People tell us they want to stay informed about what is happening around them,” Facebook claimed in a press release. “We are committed to ensuring the news that people see on Facebook is high quality, and we’re investing in ways to better draw attention to breaking news when it matters most.”…
So much for the “social” aspect of social media.
To understand how cannabis became so stigmatized, you have to understand something about a plant that is very similar to cannabis but different enough that making it illegal would be preposterous: hemp.
If I told you there was a plant available to us today that could be grown in pretty much any soil, could thrive without the use of pesticides, and could be farmed with very little maintenance, and that this magical plant could be used for a very large number of necessities and goods we use today, but we are doing nothing about it, would you think to yourself, “Joe you must be high or on some other cheap drug”?
Well, I’m not high nor do I get high, but let me tell you, there is a plant available right now and it is often mistaken for marijuana, but it has capabilities that are beyond what you could imagine. It’s called hemp.
Right off the top, hemp looks very much like marijuana and is technically in the same family of plants. But unlike modern maryjane, it does not contain anywhere near the amount of THC needed for someone to get high if they were to smoke it. The funny thing is, in the United States, hemp is just as illegal to grow as marijuana is. But how can this be? If we can’t get high from it, then what’s the problem? …
Yet another form of economic oppression. Are you starting to get the picture?
“They” really do rely on american’s short memories and tunnel-vision focus on what they see on TV to the exclusion of all else. Obama is a genocidal deep state operative like all the other presidents we’ve had since GHW Bush. Trump is a pimple compared to the malignant tumors of the last 4 presidents. That’s why he’s been under constant attack by the genocidal and treasonous corporate media.
Democrats and media revisionists try to make eight years of abuse disappear.
At a Las Vegas tech conference last week, former president Barack Obama told an audience that his presidency had been scandal-free. “I didn’t have scandals, which seems like it shouldn’t be something you brag about,” Obama joked, according to Newsweek. We hear this talking point quite often from Democrats.
Now, perhaps the president didn’t experience the fallout from a scandal, which is very different from never having been involved in one. For this confusion, Obama can thank the political media.
Why does it matter now? For one thing, historical revisionism shouldn’t go unchallenged. Democrats are running to retake power, and many of them were participants or accomplices in numerous corrosive scandals that have been airbrushed.
The other reason, of course, is that when we start to juxtapose the mythically idyllic Obama presidency with the tumultuous reign of Trump, we’re reminded that many journalists largely abdicated their responsibilities for eight years — which has a lot to do with the situation we find ourselves in today….
