The United States and the world are engaged in a great debate about new trade agreements. Such pacts used to be called “free-trade agreements”; in fact, they were managed trade agreements, tailored to corporate interests, largely in the U.S. and the European Union. Today, such deals are more often referred to as “partnerships,” as in the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).

Come ON Stiglitz!  What do you mean the US dictates the terms?  Do you mean the people who live in Detroit?  I don’t think so.  The USA is a puppet like the rest of them.  Zombies dressed as politicians are acting out the roles assigned to them.   Until we label the oppressor (basically an organic spontaneous self-organization of financial interests) we’re wrestling with shadows.
