“The Ukrainian conflict has gone on far too long, and it has become far too dangerous. There is one man who can stop it — President Vladimir Putin of Russia.”
In the intervening months, the media’s assessment of Putin has only grown harsher, with his actions in Ukraine being seen as a possible prelude to a full-scale Russian invasion, along the lines of his 2008 takeover of two provinces in the nation of Georgia.
But this analysis is dangerously unbalanced.
While Putin has made many missteps in the Ukrainian crisis–and many in Georgia in 2008–the West is far from blameless. If, as the Times asserts, it’s all Putin’s fault, then the U.S. and its allies have few options beyond waiting for him to have a sudden change of heart.
But if the West can acknowledge its own mistakes and start to rectify them, that might point the way to resolving the current conflict before it escalates further, even possibly to nuclear threats.
In considering options, let’s first look at the perception that Ukraine is a repeat of Putin’s land-grab in Georgia. That in turn has been compared to Hitler’s dismemberment of Czechoslovakia 70 years earlier. This analogy, with its hot-button allusion to the West’s appeasement of Nazi Germany at Munich in 1938, was promoted by, among others, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.
But in fact, it was one-sided coverage in the mainstream Western media that created the false impression that Putin alone was responsible for the 2008 Russian-Georgian War. Disregarded in this coverage was a finding by European Union investigators that Georgia, backed by the West, had in fact fired the first shots. The EU ultimately found blame on both sides. …
The role of Vladimir Putin on the world’s stage, from Syria to Ukraine, is a complicated one, and some see him as an important moderating influence on the now virtually unchallenged Western imperial apparatus. But one thing is increasingly clear: his role within his country is a deeply troubling one. And the public is terrified. Why? Consider these names:
Sergei Magnitsky, Alexander Litvinenko, Anna Politkovskaya and now Boris Nemtsov.
All opponents of Putin, all now dead. Murdered, in brutal and very public ways.
Our guest for this week’s RadioWHO podcast, Bill Browder, knows Russia. He’s an unusual figure—his grandfather Earl Browder was the head of the American Communist Party. Bill Browder, rejecting that legacy, became the consummate capitalist. Once Russia’s largest foreign investor, Browder was forced to leave the country when he became a vocal critic of Putin, and his lawyer, Sergei Magnitsky, was jailed and murdered.
Browder talks to WhoWhatWhy about what he sees as Putin’s compulsion to steal, his ultimate goal of becoming one of the richest men in the world, and how he believes Putin has overreached.
The holocaust you don’t hear about. Bolsheviks versus Russians and Europeans, in four parts:
The Soviet Story is a 2008 documentary film about Soviet Communism
The film features interviews with western and Russian historians such as Norman Davies and Boris Sokolov, Russian writer Viktor Suvorov, Soviet dissident Vladimir Bukovsky, members of the European Parliament and the participants, as well as survivors of Soviet terror.
‘Ilya Ehrenburg was a Jewish Bolshevik writer and journalist. Ehrenburg was best known as the top war propagandist for the Bolsheviks during World War II. During this time, he exhorted Bolshevik troops to kill and rape Europeans that stood in their way. Ehrenburg authored an especially vitriolic leaflet entitled “Kill,” which was circulated among the Bolshevik Communists on the Eastern Front:
“Break the racial pride of these German women. Take them as your lawful booty. Kill! As you storm onward, kill! You gallant soldiers of the Red army.” – Jewish Bolshevik Ilya Ehrenburg
More European women had been raped than ever before in the history of the world.
They abused and starved to death more babies than there ever were Jews in Germany. They raped and debauched millions of European women and children from eight to eighty. They brought to their death five times as many Germans in one year of peace as died during five years of war.

The USA has, by far, the highest per capita gun ownership in the world. Progressives will tell you that this is what makes America the Murder Capitol of Planet Earth. But we’re not, and in this devastatingly effective Firewall, Bill Whittle shows why the center of Gun Nut Nation is in fact one of the safest places in the world.
Eminent scientist Jane Goodall believes Steven Druker deserves the Nobel Prize for his new book, Altered Genes, Twisted Truth. She says, “[This book] is the most chilling thing I’ve ever read. It’s about the huge conspiracy by the big companies who do genetic modification to keep the public from knowing the truth, to subvert the course of justice.”
Mike Adams, the Health Ranger says, “The collapse of biotech science fraud has begun.”
Discrimination, societal sanctions, it all started with a few measles cases at Disneyland.
More than 1.2 million people in the US are infected with HIV, about two million people are infected with chlamydia, tuberculosis, syphilis and gonorrhea, and it is estimated another three million people are infected with hepatitis C. These citizens are not targeted by government for discrimination and blocked from getting a public education, being employed or moving freely in society.
Why have politicians in 12 states already filed legislation to eliminate non-medical vaccine exemptions, leaving only a very narrow medical exemption that most people cannot get? What is happening right now in America is not about the the measles or public health.
What does the elimination of religious and non-medical exemptions mean for your family? The future is in our hands – read on to discover how you can stand up for your rights.

What are intactivists (people opposed to circumcision of children) doing to communicate their cause? They are educating people, having fun and making a difference in some children’s lives. Meet The Bloodstained Men. They make doctors cower at conventions. Meet them the last week of March on the lawn in front of the Capitol in Washington D.C. – Genital Integrity Awareness Week (GIAW).
“Maybe you’d be happier with your hoodie on,” said a reporter who was concerned about my toddler’s refusal to wear a jacket on an unexpectedly windy Wednesday.
The irony of his statement was completely lost on him. After all, we were standing together at a demonstration against routine circumcision — referred to more commonly and, quite frankly, accurately by definition, as “genital cutting” by many of those holding up signs of protest around me.
It was a scene that certainly didn’t feel like the right time or place to indulge in gentle euphemisms.
A group of activists who boldly aim to make unconsented genital cutting illegal in America for boys (the practice was banned by federal law in 1997 for girls), called the Bloodstained Men and Their Friends, made a unique impression on the Texas leg of their southeastern tour last week. Intact Texas’ Houston chapter and other local intactivists joined them in our city on Wednesday and Thursday.

About 70% of Americans drink fluoridated water. They’re all at a higher risk of hypothyroidism and worse.
When the government added fluoride to our drinking water it was hailed as one of the greatest public health achievements of the 20th century. It was sold to the public as the end to dental cavities.
Today municipalities in the United States add fluoride to the water supplies of 67% of Americans or nearly 211 million people.[i]
But new research shows drinking fluoridated water greatly increases your risk of developing an underactive thyroid or hypothyroidism.
Hypothyroidism or low thyroid function causes fatigue, weight gain, constipation, aches, dry skin, thinning hair, and intolerance to cold. It can also cause slowed heart rate, depression, and impaired memory.
The new study from England finds that fluoride added to drinking water is associated with a 30% higher rate of diagnosed hypothyroidism.[ii]
Actual rates of under-active thyroid may be much higher since this study was limited to people who were diagnosed. Many more may suffer with an impaired thyroid and not receive necessary treatment…
