Report finds harsh CIA interrogations ineffective

Ineffective?  It depends on the intent.  Clearly, it’s very effective at terrorizing americans who are awake to what is going on, who are likely to be labelled “terrorists” when they point out the obvious treason going on in washington.

After a contentious closed-door vote, the Senate intelligence committee approved a long-awaited report Thursday concluding that harsh interrogation measures used by the CIA did not produce significant intelligence breakthroughs, officials said.

The 6,000-page document, which was not released to the public, was adopted by Democrats over the objections of most of the committee’s Republicans. The outcome reflects the level of partisan friction that continues to surround the CIA’s use of waterboarding and other severe interrogation techniques four years after they were banned. …

Fictional Reserve Banking: Central Banks Missing Gold

Banks Pledge Same Collateral Numerous Times

Big banks pledged the same mortgage to numerous people.

Similarly, big bullion banks borrow gold from central banks, and then rehypothecate it numerous times (see interview at link below)

(Options contracts on all commodities are similarly over-leveraged.)

A 1999 study by the International Monetary Fund found that 80 central banks lent out 15% of their official gold reserves.

Central banks now appear to have too little gold to meet their commitments.

And private banks are raiding allocated gold accounts

The Lie of “Too Big To Fail” is Destroying the Economy

The Departments of Justice and Treasury are pretending that criminally prosecuting criminal banksters will destabilize the economy.

The exact opposite is true.

Failing to prosecute criminal fraud has been destabilizing the economy since at least 2007 … and will cause huge crashes in the future.

After all, the main driver of economic growth is a strong rule of law.

Nobel prize winning economist Joseph Stiglitz says that we have to prosecute fraud or else the economy won’t recover:

The legal system is supposed to be the codification of our norms and beliefs, things that we need to make our system work. If the legal system is seen as exploitative, then confidence in our whole system starts eroding. And that’s really the problem that’s going on.

***

I think we ought to go do what we did in the S&L [crisis] and actually put many of these guys in prison. Absolutely. These are not just white-collar crimes or little accidents. There were victims. That’s the point. There were victims all over the world.

***

Economists focus on the whole notion of incentives. People have an incentive sometimes to behave badly, because they can make more money if they can cheat. If our economic system is going to work then we have to make sure that what they gain when they cheat is offset by a system of penalties.

Nobel prize winning economist George Akerlof has demonstrated that failure to punish white collar criminals – and instead bailing them out- creates incentives for more economic crimes and further destruction of the economy in the future.

Indeed, professor of law and economics (and chief S&L prosecutor) William Black notes that we’ve known of this dynamic for “hundreds of years”. And see this, this, this and this. ….

The coming drone attack on America

Actually “predator drone” has two meanings in colonial america.  It’s an excellent description of the statists and sheep in wolves’ clothing who are oblivious to the economic forces bearing down on this country, and who will carry out whatever orders are given from whoever wears a funny hat or poses in front of a flag.  Perfect pawns in someone else’s game.

Drones on domestic surveillance duties are already deployed by police and corporations. In time, they will likely be weaponised.

People often ask me, in terms of my argument about “ten steps” that mark the descent to a police state or closed society, at what stage we are. I am sorry to say that with the importation of what will be tens of thousands of drones, by both US military and by commercial interests, into US airspace, with a specific mandate to engage in surveillance and with the capacity for weaponization – which is due to begin in earnest at the start of the new year – it means that the police state is now officially here.

In February of this year, Congress passed the FAA Reauthorization Act, with its provision to deploy fleets of drones domestically. Jennifer Lynch, an attorney at the Electronic Frontier Foundation, notes that this followed a major lobbying effort, “a huge push by […] the defense sector” to promote the use of drones in American skies: 30,000 of them are expected to be in use by 2020, some as small as hummingbirds – meaning that you won’t necessarily see them, tracking your meeting with your fellow-activists, with your accountant or your congressman, or filming your cruising the bars or your assignation with your lover, as its video-gathering whirs.

Others will be as big as passenger planes. Business-friendly media stress their planned abundant use by corporations: police in Seattle have already deployed them.

An unclassified US air force document reported by CBS (pdf) news expands on this unprecedented and unconstitutional step – one that formally brings the military into the role of controlling domestic populations on US soil, which is the bright line that separates a democracy from a military oligarchy. (The US constitution allows for the deployment of National Guard units by governors, who are answerable to the people; but this system is intended, as is posse comitatus, to prevent the military from taking action aimed at US citizens domestically.) ….

At the risk of being nauseatingly repetitive, all of this pre-hitlerian jackbooted takeover is justified by the utterly scientifically disprovable fable of the official story of 9/11.  Clearly, the only people in a position to neutralize NORAD or destroy crucial SEC records of pre-9/11 “puts” or plant tons of incindiary thermite in the WTC towers or steal military grade weaponized anthrax from a US bioweapons lab or orchestrate such a transparently laughable media coverup are moles inside the government and their corporate controllers.   Therefore, any “peace activist” who refuses to look at the evidence of a false flag operation which is now available on a silver platter for anyone to see is not really an activist at all, but a statist, a “loyal” pawn of traitors and mass murderers who are parading around in the open.  I guess nazi germany was full of them.

Look behind the throne: this is a coup in progress by the same interests which shipped our industrial infrastructure to china.

Epidemic of Kidney Disease from GMO Food

Severe, acute kidney injuries have doubled over the last decade and continue to rise by 10 percent a year according to a hot new study out of the University of California, San Francisco. Raymond K. Hsu, MD, a UCSF nephrologist who led the research said “That was a staggering revelation of how increasingly common and how life-threatening acute kidney injury has become over the past decade in the United States.” Of course, doctors are clueless and cannot account for the rise in acute kidney injury.

Meanwhile, the latest word from the American Society of Nephrology says that the total number of deaths associated with dialysis-requiring acute kidney injuries rose from 18,000 in 2000 to nearly 39,000 in 2009 – that’s more than double in a decade. When you look at all the studies that are coming out showing kidney failure and injuries in study animals after 90 days on GMO foods, it doesn’t take a genius to figure out “why.”…

A new study released by the International Journal of Biological Sciences (IJBS), which analyzed the effects of GMO foods on mammalian health, found that Monsanto’s GM corn is linked to organ damage in rats. The study concluded: “Effects were mostly concentrated in kidney and liver function, the two major diet detoxification organs… some effects on heart, adrenal, spleen and blood cells were also frequently noted… We therefore conclude that our data strongly suggests that these GM maize varieties induce a state of hepatorenal toxicity….These substances have never before been an integral part of the human or animal diet and therefore their health consequences for those who consume them, especially over long time periods are currently unknown.”

Interestingly, this was a 90-day study that showed once-again, the damaging effects of GMO foods. The mammals used were rats that live about two years. These rats were fed GMO foods for 90 days and then compared to rats fed a non-GMO diet. 90 days of a rat’s life equates to the human equivalent of roughly 10 years of life – putting us on the threshold of cataclysmic health disaster. …

I’ve had two cats and a dog die from kidney disease in the last 2 years.  Looking at the ingredients in my dog and cat foods, I found corn and soy to be at the top of the list.  But in the USA, the vast majority of these crops are now GMO.  I’ve had two other cats who suffered some kind of allergic reaction that was diagnosed as a form of lupus.  One died.  The other recovered after switching her to normal (meat based) cat food.

WMDs: Five Invasion Plots, Three Continents, Identical Lies

As the sabre rattling against Syria gets ever louder, the allegations ever wilder and double standards, stirring, plotting and terrorist financing (sorry: “aiding the legitimate opposition”) neon lit, it is instructive to look at the justifications presented by US Administrations for a few other murderous incursions in recent history.

This month is the twenty third anniversary of the US invasion of Panama on 20th December 1989, as Panamanians prepared their Christmas celebrations. A quick check reminds the late Philip Agee recalling President George H.W. Bush telling the American people that the threat from Panama (pop: 3,571,185 – 2011) was such that: “our way of life is at stake.” Agee referred to this in his aptly named talk “Producing the Proper Crisis.”(i) Apt then as now. Nothing changes.

The aim of the invasion was to capture the country’s leader General Manuel Noriega and, of course, to: “establish a democratic government.” Regime change.

With the approaching transfer of control of the Panama Canal to Panama (originally scheduled for 1st January  1990) after a century of US colonial stewardship, America wanted to ensure it was in the hands of malleable allies.

Noriega a CIA asset, since 1967 (ii) who had also attended the notorious School of the Americas, at Fort Benning, Georgia, came to power with US backing, but seemingly his support for the US was cooling. To encapsulate a long story, the US kidnapped him and sentenced him to forty years in jail.

Plans to invade were called: “Operation Prayer Book.” It was later re-named “Operation Just Cause”, with General Colin Powell commenting that it was a moniker of which he approved as: ”Even our severest critics would have to utter ‘Just Cause’ whilst denouncing us.” (Colin Powell, with Jospeh E. Persico: “My American Journey”, 1995.)

All military marauding should simply be called: “Operation Silly Name 1, then 2,3,4” etc., until the numbers finally run out. …

Weirdos and Sickos in Psychiatry Want to Control Consensual Sex

Psychiatry of course has no insight whatsoever into its own corruption and neurotic compulsions.  But really, someone needs to point out the obvious here.

Psychiatry continues its imperialistic efforts to diagnose every human condition as a mental illness with a billing code and proper pharmaceutical intervention.

The latest on the docket is sex, with the proposed Hypersexual Disorder.

Yep, if you like to have a lot of sex or use sex to feel good, some medical researchers want you to be diagnosable. What are the “symptoms” of the naughty new disorder?

Science Daily reports:

These include a recurring pattern of sexual fantasies, urges and behaviors lasting a period of six months or longer that are not caused by other issues, such as substance abuse, another medical condition or manic episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Also, individuals who might be diagnosed with this disorder must show a pattern of sexual activity in response to unpleasant mood states, such as feeling depressed, or a pattern of repeatedly using sex as a way of coping with stress. …

Detention Protection Provision Stripped from NDAA Bill

On Tuesday, Congress removed a provision from 2013 NDAA that claimed to protect American citizens from unconstitutional detention by the military. The effort was spearheaded by Arizona Sen. John McCain.

“An authorization to use military force, a declaration of war, or any similar authority shall not authorize the detention without charge or trial of a citizen or lawful permanent resident of the United States apprehended in the United States, unless an Act of Congress expressly authorizes such detention,” the provision declared.

The amendment was added by Sen. Dianne Feinstein. The House version of the legislation, however, did not contain language protecting citizens from detention. It was removed after a conference committee from both chambers worked out a unified measure. …
