Farmageddon: The War on American Family Farms

“Americans right to access fresh, healthy foods of their choice is under attack. Farmageddon tells the story of small, family farms that were providing safe, healthy foods to their communities and were forced to stop, sometimes through violent action, by agents of misguided government bureaucracies, and seeks to figure out why.

“Filmmaker Kristin Canty’s quest to find healthy food for her four children turned into an educational journey to discover why access to these foods was being threatened. What she found were policies that favor agribusiness and factory farms over small family-operated farms selling fresh foods to their communities. Instead of focusing on the source of food safety problems most often the industrial food chain policymakers and regulators implement and enforce solutions that target and often drive out of business small farms that have proven themselves more than capable of producing safe, healthy food, but buckle under the crushing weight of government regulations and excessive enforcement actions.

“Farmageddon highlights the urgency of food freedom, encouraging farmers and consumers alike to take action to preserve individuals rights to access food of their choice and farmers rights to produce these foods safely and free from unreasonably burdensome regulations. The film serves to put policymakers and regulators on notice that there is a growing movement of people aware that their freedom to choose the foods they want is in danger, a movement that is taking action with its dollars and its voting power to protect and preserve the dwindling number of family farms that are struggling to survive.

“The message has already reach Capitol Hill. Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D, ME) along with Ron Paul (R, TX) and Ed Perlmutter, (D, CO) sponsored the Congressional screening of Farmaggedon. Pingree, who is also an organic farmer, wants her colleagues to see the devastating effects regulatory policies are having on small American farms.

“Farmageddon: The Unseen War on American Family Farms vividly conveys the stories ( including the now infamous Rawesome Food raid) of numerous farmers who found themselves on the wrong side of government food policy. It is hard to imagine our government using S.W.A.T. raids to deal with misdemeanors, nor is it easy to fathom agents of the law seizing valuable farm products and equipment, particularly in cases where there is no proof of harm. This movie enables viewers to come face to face with the harsh realities of providing local, fresh and healthy food.”

Medical Priesthood Seeking a Cut of the Slavery Racket

Of course they already indulge in cutting baby flesh, but it’s not enough for them.  Corporate psychopaths must be taking their cue from their counterparts in psychiatry:

“Stigmatizing Resistance to Authority: The medicalization of rebellion

“In 1861 Samuel A. Cartwright, an American physician, described a mental illness he called “drapetomania.” As Wikipedia points out, the term derived from drapetes, Greek for “runaway [slave],” and mania for madness or frenzy.

“Thus Cartwright defined drapetomania as “the disease causing negroes to run away [from captivity].” …

“Have things changed much since Cartwright’s day? You decide.

“The current edition of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-IV) list Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD) under “disorders usually first diagnosed infancy, childhood, or adolescence.” (Hat tip: Bryan Hyde.) According to the manual,

The essential feature of Oppositional Defiant Disorder is a recurrent pattern of negativistic, defiant, disobedient, and hostile behavior toward authority figures that persist for at least six months. It is characterized by the frequent occurrence of at least four of the following behaviors: losing temper, arguing with adults, actively defying or refusing to comply with the requests or rules of adults, deliberately doing things that will annoy other people, blaming others for his or her own mistakes or misbehavior, being touchy or easily annoyed by others, being angry and resentful, or being spiteful and vindictive.”

It’s quite telling that there’s no DSM classification for medical aggression or messianic compulsive disorder.

How to Know if Your Food is Conventional, Organic, or Genetically Modified

“These days genetic modification of the food supply is rather prevalent. With genetic modification being linked to sterility and infant mortality, it is something that should be avoided at all costs. Unfortunately, food products containing genetically modifiedorganisms are often not properly labeled, leading to unknowing consumption of genetically modified ingredients. Learn how to identify which products are genetically modified, and avoid this major health risk.

Reading the labels:

  • Conventional Fruit Labels: Begin with the number 4, and never begin with the number 9.
  • Genetically Modified Fruit Labels: Begin with the number 8. Note that it begins with 8, not just contains the number 8. This is often a 5 digit number.
  • Organic Fruit Labels: These fruit labels always contain 5 digits, and begin with the number 9. Always check and make sure, as some “organic” products have been known to be deceptively labeled.

Look For Products Labeled 100% Organic:

  • United States and Canadian governments do not allow companies to label products 100% organic if they contain genetically modified foods. While it may be harder to find products with this label, this is the best way to go when it comes to avoiding genetically modified ingredients as well as additives.

Look For “Non-GM” or “GMO-Free” Labels:

  • Companies know that consumers do not want to purchase items containing genetically modified ingredients. In response, they often flaunt “GMO-Free” labels. This is an obvious indicator that the product is free of genetically modified ingredients. Keep in mind however, that this does not mean the product is organic. Nor does it mean it is free of other harmful additives such as aspartame or MSG. This label may also be on the back of this product.

Always read labels closely, and choose 100% organic products when available. Don’t hesitate to call the company and ask whether or not they use genetically modified ingredients, or even demand they stop using them. Learn more about genetically modified ingredients and the implications of genetically engineering the food supply.”

The genocidal oligarchs prefer to buy laws rather than violate them, although they’re quite prepared to do the latter if necessary.  Let’s hope these labeling laws persist long enough to prosecute and jail them for corrupting our bodies with their industrial effluents.

Genetically Modified Chocolate to Consume 70% of Global Cocoa Supply

“New initiatives seek to genetically modify 70% of the global cocoa supply, highlighting the necessity for consumers to select only high quality organic chocolate products in order to avoid this threat.  Using genetically modifiedcocoa tree hybrids, scientists are already spreading the news about their new ‘tastier’ modified chocolate. The campaign to use genetically modified cocoa tree hybrids is a product of a collaboration involving the USDA, Mars chocolate manufacturer, and even IBM.

“The funding for the initiative comes from Mars, involving scientists based at the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) of the US Department of Agriculture and Science in addition to the inclusion of researchers working at IBM’s Thomas J Watson Research Center. What are these scientists doing exactly? They are actively working to finalize the gene sequencing of the cocoa genome in order to officially begin the widespread modification of the chocolate supply. The scientists claim that the project will actually “benefit” the chocolate industry and cocoa growers in West Africa — the home of 70% of the world’s cocoa production….”

The funding for the initiative is partially coming from that check you sent to the IRS last week.

Bankers jailed, sued as Iceland seeks culprits for crisis

(AFP) – May 12, 2010 “More than a year and a half after Iceland’s major banks failed, all but sinking the country’s economy, police have begun rounding up a number of top bankers while other former executives and owners face a two-billion-dollar lawsuit.

“Since Iceland’s three largest banks — Kaupthing, Landsbanki and Glitnir — collapsed in late 2008, their former executives and owners have largely been living untroubled lives abroad.

“But the publication last month of a parliamentary inquiry into the island nation’s profound financial and economic crisis signaled a turning of the tide, laying much of the blame for the downfall on the former bank heads who had taken “inappropriate loans from the banks” they worked for.

“On Wednesday, the administrators of Glitnir’s liquidation announced they had filed a two-billion-dollar (1.6-billion-euro) lawsuit in a New York court against former large shareholders and executives for alleged fraud.” …

This happened two years ago.  Why haven’t you heard about it?

Iceland Tells the Banksters to Take a Hike

I thought I heard something the other night. It was a distant sound, a low rumbling, a roar from some far off beast that had finally pronounced its presence. It woke me for a second, but it was so distant I felt no threat and simply rolled over and went back to sleep. The next morning I learned that Iceland was taking a stand. It was refusing to pay its British and Dutch debts. It is claiming the debts are a result of fraud, and it’s right. They have made the offer to pay some years from now, if they can afford it at that time, and only as a percentage of their GDP. This offer has been, of course, declined by Iceland’s creditor banks as they demand payment in the form of real assets.

“The Icelanders have grown a pair, so to speak. They are doing something I wish Americans would have done, or will do in the future. They are standing up to the privately owned banks that seem to think they are above the law, that they can change the rules at their whim, and that they alone know what’s best for the world, which of course happens to empower them and help their profits. I may not agree with all the politics of Iceland. It might not be the bastion of freedom one looking to get away from intrusive government might run to, but I do admire their stance against the banksters.

“Let’s examine the situation a little closer. The Icelanders claim that private banks owe the money to other private banks, not taxpayers. The people who own the private banks should be responsible for paying back the creditor banks, not the people of Iceland. I agree wholeheartedly with that assessment. Furthermore, I would take it a step further and make the assertion that any government official voting for any public borrowing that requires payment of public funds for interest be held responsible, or their family be held responsible, should the loans go into default. In other words, these public officials should not be allowed to maintain their fortunes while the common folk are expected to pay for the mistakes they made. Perhaps that would help stop the corruption.

“It seems that Iceland was fooled into the same ponzi scheme the rest of the world finds itself in. This all revolves around the fact that money in and of itself has no intrinsic value. It is just paper, for the most part, and in the modern world it is just data floating around in cyberspace. Even metal coins are made from cheap and common metals anymore. The fiat system devised by the central banks are designed to collapse at some point, and it’s designed to collapse in such a way that the very few, very rich, very powerful end up with all the marbles. It’s not enough to them, it seems, to be at the top of the heap, they have to be so high up and keep the common folk down so low as to be untouchable…”

Stealth GMOs Rapidly Consuming Global Food Supply

Herr Kissinger is alleged to have said that if you control food, you control people.  But I’m sure our great leaders would only apply such machinations to the outer reaches of the empire.  It’s comforting to know that no matter what torture and murder and theft goes on in our names, we’re safely ensconced in the belly of the beast and can go on pretending to be noble “peace activists” while we pay for it all without questioning the ultimate conspiracy theory of how men armed with box cutters can symmetrically implode 3 skyscrapers, bring NORAD to its knees and and arrange for weapons-grade anthrax from a US military bioweapons lab to be delivered to congress just in time for the passage of the patriot act while conveniently providing the excuse to pursue the ruinous  foreign and domestic policies which our ruling oligarchs have been planning for years.   But there’s nothing to see here, only the key to taking back the country.   Where are our local community leaders on this?  Totally, utterly AWOL.

The public mind has been lobotomized by the enemies of humanity who control our mass media.

Anyway:

“Obviously there is no room for GMOs in truly healthy food products, which is why it is truly vital that you understand the nature of GMOs and how they are oftentimes hidden in commercial food products. It may very well shock you to know just how prevalent GMOs are within the food supply. It’s truly amazing that modified products continue to go unlabeled despite being linked to organ damage — among a barrage of other conditions — in a prominent review of 19 studies.

“In fact, nearly 93-95% of US soybeans are genetically modified in order to resist powerful weed-killers that were found to be killing the actual soybeans as well as the weeds. Following current trends, genetically modified food products will makeup the majority of the future food supply if a change is not made. For now, that change has been shot down by the FDA — the very organization tasked to defend public health. Just recently, the agency deleted around 1 million signatures from the GMO labeling campaign ‘Just Label It.’

“This move means that consumers will continue to stay in the dark about whether or not what they’re eating is compromised of genetically modified ingredients. And it’s not just corn and soybeans, other commonly modified food staples include:

  • Corn
  • Cotton
  • Soy
  • Sweet corn
  • Hawaiian Papaya
  • Rice
  • Potatoes

“Statistics show how GMO crops and ingredients have skyrocketed in even the past few years. Here are statistics as of 2009-2010:

  • Genetically modified soybeans currently make up for 93-95% of the US soybean supply.
  • Genetically modified corn currently makes up for 86% of the US corn supply
  • Genetically modified cotton currently makes up for 93% of the US cotton supply.
  • Genetically modified Hawaiin papaya currently makes up for 93% of the Hawaiian papaya supply.

“When viewing these statistics, it is easy to see how many consumers are being tricked into consuming genetically modified foods. Amazingly, in a poll conducted by ABC, more than 93% of Americans feel that products containing GMOs should be labeled – meanwhile, these individuals are actually unknowingly consuming GMOs on a daily basis. What it comes down to is that as long as the threat is not visible, many consumers will simply purchase commercial products without thinking about the consequences. This is exactly why Monsanto and others have been squelching attempts to label products that contain GMOs.”
