When Governments Go Bad: The Basic Federal Government Business Model

The business model is create the problem and then pose as the savior. 9/11 was a classic example, it served the foreign conquest establishment well. OKC and Fast and furious served the domestic theatre. They should be even more alarming: why does this corrupt, murderous, drug running, torture exporting state want to disarm us? Could the transnational oligarchs who bragged about supporting pol pot in cambodia have similar designs on this country? What do you think?

John Perkins, Economic Hit Man on Speaking Freely

“For many years John Perkins was an “economic hit man” in the world of international finance; a function he performed by persuading Third World countries to take on large -scale public works projects. Today, we recognize that these types of projects, financed by the World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF), have served to enrich U.S. corporations while creating crippling debt for these countries, effectively turning them into American client states. Experiencing a change of heart, Perkins resigned from the business in 1981. After running a utility company, he founded the nonprofit organization, Dream Change Coalition, which works closely with Amazonian and other indigenous people to help preserve their environments and cultures. Take the time for a conversation with Perkins about globalization and inequality around the world.”

Stop The CISPA Nightmare

If Pink Slime and Meat Glue are enough to rouse Americans to register displeasure with their elected ones, this should send them over the top….if they’re paying attention. Lauren Weinstein pays attention.

In their scramble yesterday to pass CISPA — H.R. 3523: The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act of 2011 — Congress’ House of Representatives has created a framework for attacks on civil rights and privacy that not only far exceed the abusive potential of the much despised (and currently sidelined) SOPA and PIPA legislation, but also that of PATRIOT itself.

It didn’t have to be this way. We can all acknowledge that cybersecurity is a serious issue, and that real cybersecurity threats do exist.

But as I’ve noted in CISPA, Cybersecurity, and the Devil in the Dark and elsewhere, cybersecurity has become a new target for exploitation by intelligence agencies and commercial profiteers alike, and CISPA legislation in particular has seemed increasingly problematic from the word go.

The rumor was that various amendments would be added to CISPA before yesterday’s House vote, to correct some of the more egregious privacy problems contained in the main legislation.

Instead, in an absolutely stunning display of disrespect for legitimate privacy concerns and other civil rights, the House not only failed to make the legislation better before passing it by a 248 to 168 margin, but by voice vote they actually made it incredibly more dangerous and outrageous.

The result is one of the most toxic witch’s brews against civil rights and privacy as can be imagined.

The U.S. Senate has yet to take action on CISPA, and President Obama was threatening to possibly veto it even before the House’s travesties of yesterday.

But if you objected to SOPA and PIPA, if you care about the privacy of your Internet communications, this is no time to be on the sidelines.

Tell your Senators and the President in no uncertain terms that you want appropriate cybersecurity legislation, but that you are unwilling to flush your civil rights down the toilet in the process. And do keep in mind who voted for CISPA in the House. You may want to express your displeasure to them as well.

CISPA and its kin must be definitively, absolutely, and unambiguously stopped in their tracks.      Lauren Weinstein

Tarpley Spy Museum Debate

Book TV (C-SPAN 2) recorded a debate between Jonathan Kay and Webster Tarpley at the Spy Museum earlier this month. It is airing TODAY (Saturday April 28) at 7 pm CDT. Should be good, don’t miss it

Tarpley onstage at the International Spy Museum in Washington DC with two leading neocons, both from Canada. This debate is especially relevant coming as it does as the little Ribbentrops of the NATO foreign ministries escalate their campaign for a near-term attack on Syria and/or Iran, which might well be assisted by a Wag-The-Dog event, false flag terrorist provocation, or replay of the Gulf of Tonkin fraud. The program is airing between the first and second rounds of the French presidential elections, when the desire of Washington and London to keep their asset Sarkozy in power may create a short-term dynamic in the same direction. The broadcast will help viewers understand what kinds of vigilance are required to preserve world peace.

The debate is now online at

Economic Devastation: Trilateralist Prescription for Too Much Democracy

#1 The percentage of Americans that own homes is dropping rapidly.  According to Gallup, the current level of homeownership in the United States is the lowest that Gallup has ever measured.

#2 Home prices in the U.S. continue to fall like a rock as well.  They have declined for six months in a row and are now down a total of 35 percent from the peak of the housing bubble.  The last time that home prices in the United States were this low was back in 2002.

#3 Last year, an astounding 53 percent of all U.S. college graduates under the age of 25 were either unemployed or underemployed. …

#9 In 1962, 28 percent of all jobs in America were manufacturing jobs.  In 2011, only 9 percent of all jobs in America were manufacturing jobs. …

#14 Incredibly, one out of every four jobs in the United States pays $10 an hour or less at this point.

#15 Household incomes all over the United States continue to fall.  After adjusting for inflation, median household income in America has declined by 7.8 percent since December 2007. …

#18 Right now, more than 25 percent of all American children are on food stamps. …

#23 The U.S. national debt has risen by more than 5 trillion dollars since the day that Barack Obama first took office.  In a little more than 3 years Obama has added more to the national debt than the first 41 presidents combined.

#24 The Federal Reserve bought up approximately 61 percent of all government debt issued by the U.S. Treasury Department during 2011.

#25 The Federal Reserve continues to systematically destroy the value of the U.S. dollar.  Since 1970, the U.S. dollar has lost more than 83 percent of its value.

“In communities all over America there is a feeling that something fundamental has changed.  Businesses that have been around for generations are shutting their doors and there is a lot of fear in the air.  The following is a brief excerpt from a recent interview with Richard Yamarone, the senior economist at Bloomberg Brief….

“You have to listen to what the small businesses are telling you and right now they are telling you, ‘Hey, I’m the head of a 3rd or 4th generation, 75 or 100 year old business, and I’ve got to shut the doors’ or ‘I’ve got to let people go. And if I’m hiring anybody back, it’s only on a temporary basis.’ “

While this article implies Obama is to blame, this is the fruition of decades of planning and policy funded by think tanks like the trilateral commission and the council on foreign relations, wholly owned and operated subsidiaries of the robber baron families of a century ago.  If you think such statements are paranoid all I can say is you better start paying attention and do some historical research.  Start with “The Trilateral Commission and Elite Planning for World Management” in the reference section.

Why should any of this be a surprise?  Our dear leaders have imposed the shock doctrine on countries all around the world for decades.  Wishful thinking in the face of such evidence is simply irrational.
